Technical Systems Analyst II

The Technical Systems Analyst is accountable for working with business units to determine the best manner to implement technical requirements and solutions.   The Systems Analyst provides knowledge and expertise in a broad spectrum of technologies including servers, storage, backup systems, networking, and security at a Tier II level.  

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study OR equivalent experience and knowledge required.
  2. 3-5 or more years’ experience in an Enterprise, technically diverse support environment;
  3. 3- years’ experience supporting PC, virtual servers, storage, networking, security, and telephony technologies.
  4. Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies.
  5. Broad knowledge of Information Technology environments, support and technologies.
  6. Extensive (Tier 2 Level) knowledge of PC, server, network, storage, backup, and security technologies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assessing complex technical situations and shaping appropriate actions
  2. Resolving escalated Tier-1 and Tier -2 help desk requests within a timely manner or as directed by the Manager
  3. Resolving technical issues arising from network, server, database, and desktop failures
  4. Participating in a rotational on-call schedule for responding to after-hours server requests that are identified as critical
  5. Diagnosing service needs, responding and resolving technical issues 
  6. Monitoring and testing system performance and providing documented performance statistics and reports from server logs
  7. Identifying and implementing incremental improvements and setting quality standards for existing infrastructure systems and services in response to changing needs
