Job Description:

Plans, organizes, and schedules the development of computer, web, and mobile applications with the programming staff. You will help establishes standards and goals for application and program design, development, testing and implementation. Reviews and evaluates the work of the programming staff and prepares periodic performance reports.

Job Duties:

  • Understands, uses and advises programmers on best practices in using Microsoft .NET and

Visual Basic programming, SQL query language, Windows Servers, Microsoft SQL Server,

stored procedures, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and other modern web and application

development architecturess

  • Develops, programs and implements applications through an agile software development

lifecycle

  • Works closely daily with programmers, conducting code reviews, helping with technical

challenges, SQL development, and more to ensure that programs are well written, with

documentation, using the best techniques.

  • Maintains a system for submitting and evaluating programming requests,

ensuring there is a two-way communication channel with customers.

  • Shares individual projects plans, and an overall programming

schedule to ensure programmers are progressing on projects in a timely fashion, while

allowing customers to know the status of their projects.

  • Helps work with programmers to meet and discuss with clients to gather requirements for

projects, scope out projects, and to meet regularly with programmers and clients during large

projects to have periodic projects health checks, to ensure projects are in scope and on

target.

  • Provides technical support and application architecture advice for the programming staff in

the areas of system design, program development, database development, debugging and

  • training.
  • Develops and implements system and programming standards and goals and insures

adherence and achievement by the programming staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

College degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field with 7 or more years of experience in applications design and programming on the applicable computer systems and software, or an equivalent combination.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of computer systems, applications design, file structures, database management and programming standards.
  • Skill in technical documentation, including developing complex application requirements.
  • Skill in planning and organization.
  • Skill in conveying technical information to non-technical users.
  • Ability to set and achieve long-range goals for application systems development and implementation.
  • Basic knowledge of networks, communications and telephone systems to support application management.
