Information Security Analyst/ Compliance Specialist

Job Description

The Information Security Analyst is part of a team responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of corporate-wide Information Security Policies, Programs and Standards. Part of the Information Security team, providing technical assistance and expertise in developing, accrediting, and deploying security components protecting against inside and external threats. Duties include performing risk and technical vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Interacts with technical and business management and personnel to meet business requirements in a secure manner.

Information Security Analyst/ Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

Execute security initiatives including risk assessments, data classification, attack and penetration analysis, policy compliance and communication.

• Identify process risks, weaknesses and controls, and develop recommendations and plans to address vulnerabilities.

• Manage security and compliance deficiencies and incidents through identifying and documenting the findings, monitoring the remediation, and responsible for their successful closure to increase the security and compliance

• Actively participates, and sometimes leads, in projects that are assigned to the information security team that are in line with information security requirements, and as directed by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

• Conducts research on security products to improve the posture of the organization.

• Evaluates new products, service offerings, and new internal applications to ensure that information assets are handled in accordance with laws, regulations and organization’s information security policies.

• Researches new security tools and applications and assesses their applicability to the team’s operational capability.

• Participates on the daily coordination and remediation of security incidents.

Information Security Analyst/ Compliance Specialist

Qualifications

Five years + of experience in the Information Security Field

Knowledge of national and international regulatory compliances, standards, and frameworks such as ISO, SOX, and PCI DSS

Working knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems

Good knowledge of networking and routing protocols

Experience in Penetration Testing and hacking techniques

Good understanding and knowledge of security concepts, protocols, processes, architectures, and platforms (authentication and access control technologies, intrusion detection, network traffic analysis, Web Application Firewalls, Encryption and Key Management, SIEM technology, incident handling, media/malware analysis, etc.)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to react to high pressure dynamic changing environments

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Ability to effectively utilize resources throughout the organization as well as external vendors

Self-motivated, well organized, and go-getter approach and attitude

Demonstrate a positive attitude, high professionalism and a commitment to corporate success

Travel Requirements: Up to 25%

Information Security Analyst/ Compliance Specialist

Education Requirements

BS in Computer Science or related field is required

Master’s Degree in the field is desirable

Certifications

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is required

CISM, CISA (Certified Information Security Auditor) is highly recommended/desired
