Job Description

  • The Business Analyst position works directly with the human resource division to build and lead initiatives for the HR pipeline of Information Technology projects and enhancements with mentorship from the Business Solution Lead in a SAP HCM environment.  The ideal candidate must have experience defining requirements and business processes for HR departments. The position bridges the gap with the technical organization to determine solutions to any current system changes and help lead new projects.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions

  • Assist HR in addressing their most complex business challenges by maximizing performance of the Human Resource (HR) function through systems and processes
  • Gather requirements for new development objects while leading the demand planning and scheduling of HR requests
  • Support the development of training content for SAP HCM business users.
  • Translate business goals and objectives into strategic business capabilities.
  • Continuously analyze and document as-is process and process interfaces
  • Systematic updating and creation of system documentation, business process documentation, HR desk procedure and end user documentation.
  • Benchmark current and future processes against best industry practices.
  • Develop a roadmap of projects and initiatives for enablement of new capabilities.
  • Engage in efforts to establish scope and business case for new programs and initiatives.
  • Deploy an appropriate methodology for the identification and documentation of business requirements.
  • Provide the methodology, standards and tools for efficient and effective program management.
  • Identify technical functionality that aligns with desired new business capabilities. 
  • Up to 20% travel required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Engineering or Computer Science or related field. Masters degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • 7 years + experience within a business function (HR) with business analysis or business process improvement activity required
  • 7 years + experience with SAP HCM
  • Experience with the following modules: Payroll, Benefits, Time Management, Personal Administration, Organizational Management, and portal ESS (Employee Self Service) / MSS (Manager Self Service),
  • Experience with implementing Global SAP environment
  • Proficient in Testing and Documentation using proper methodologies
  • Previous involvement in the deployment or optimization of an ERP system a plus
  • Previous position in Pharma or Medical Device industry a plus
  • Experience working in projects where multiple functions work in a matrix structure a plus

Skills Requirements

  • Knowledge in HCM system functionality and capabilities in an SAP HCM environment
  • Experience with process improvement techniques and tools. Lean or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably at all levels within the organization up to the senior management level.
  • MS Office, SQL server, Active Directory, MS Exchange, ERP and other partner software applications.
