Job Description

Linux Systems Administrators work with other members of the Information Technology department to support all aspects of the Systems Infrastructure. The Linux Systems Administrator will also support internal Development staff with installation, configuration, and support of applications. Candidates must be highly motivated and will be required to respond to and provide resolutions to problems on a timely basis. This position involves the planning, configuring, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of a variety of network systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience and/or industry certifications/degree such as:
o CompTIA-Linux+/Server+/Cloud+
o Linux Professional Institute-LPIC-1/LPIC-2/LPIC-3
o Linux Foundation–LFCS/LFCE
o A.S./A.A.S in Information Technology, System Administration, Computer Science, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
24/7 availability as part of an on-call rotation
Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Acceptable background investigation report
Pass drug screening and credit checks
U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Skills:
Linux – Linux installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting using CentOS, RedHat, Debian, Ubuntu (or others). Experience with clustering and high-availability desired
Apache – Hadoop, Kafka, ZooKeeper
Scripting – Ability to write and deploy scripts for task automation and system administration
Virtualization - VMware
Excellent troubleshooting abilities

Additional Beneficial kills:
SAN – Storage administration and troubleshooting on EMC, 3PAR, and other vendors
Host-based security – HIDs, Antivirus, etc.
Hardware – Troubleshooting and repairing server hardware
