Consultis, a premier Technical Solutions Provider & IT Staffing Firm with the single focus of pairing the right candidate with the right employment opportunity is currently searching for an IT Operations Manager (NOC) for a Direct Hire opportunity (FTE) with our South Florida based client.

Position Overview:

The IT Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager will be responsible for supervising a group of technicians in the service desk. This group will handle Level 1 troubleshooting for many areas including: Windows Server, LAN/WAN Networking, Wireless and VoIP. Monitors performance of Infrastructure equipment, coordinates equipment installation and delivery schedules. Will be expected to drive resolution of high-severity outages impacting IT Infrastructure, and provide problem resolution for highly complex Infrastructure issues. This is a hands on role.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a 24x7x365 Network Operation Center’s (NOC) shift operations and personnel.
  • Experience working with Service Now and Solar Winds is required
  • Assign and manage the work load of shift personnel, as well as escalate resource constraints to management.
  • Oversee day-to-day NOC operations, escalations, ticketing and communications with all customers.
  • Update and maintain documentation associated with processes and procedures.
  • Continuously improve and develop systems to proactively monitor the infrastructure.
  • Hire, train, mentor and develop Level 1 technicians.
  • Manage the troubleshooting of major issues with NOC monitoring tools.
  • Coordinate efforts to identify root cause and recommend solutions.
  • Strong experience in process and process development including the development and measurement of KPI’s.
  • Ensure that systemic issues have appropriate resolution paths.
  • Generate key reports for management including but not limited to: system availability, service level agreements, ticket resolution and customer issues.
  • Work alongside and ensure mentoring of NOC personnel is occurring to ensure all staff is acquiring the necessary skill sets to perform their job functions and meet departmental and individual goals.
  • Continues to develop professional skills in the information systems fields through trade magazines, manuals, seminars, and courses. Assist in training staff.
  • Is subject to on call 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Required Experience:

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as a NOC manager in a 24x7x365 environment.
  • Strong network troubleshooting, process workflow and communication skills are a requirement.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing network analytical tasks.
  • Experience in people-management and conflict resolution.
  • Must have very strong problem solving skills.
  • Experience with networks, routers, switches, servers (Win/Unix/Linux), VMWare, SAN, security, wireless, VoIP, etc.

Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a Network Operations Center is required.
  • Current industry certifications would be a plus: ITIL, CCNA, VMWare, SolarWinds, Security, etc.
  • Must have the ability to communicate, motivate, and organize projects among a broad spectrum of personnel throughout the network, frequently under deadline pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with executives, engineers, vendors and peers.
